We do not take any responsibility for damage caused if you modify these files/folders. Please make sure u know exactly what u are doing

Inside C:\Private folder there are some sub folders :

\1000295\
DBS_100065FF_Contacts.cdb - Contacts Database
DBS_100069CC_btregistry - Bluetooth device List
DBS_10207216_SWinsLog.db - Instalation log of Softwares

\1000395b\Calendar - Calendar File
\10003A73\Cntmodel.ini - Speed dial Numbers
\1000484b\Mail\ - Mail Folder (SMS)
\101F413C\SIPprofiles.dat - SIP (Session Initiation Protocol) Profiles
\101F4668\UnitConverter.ini - Stored Exchange Rates in the Converter
\101F8530\Cookies - Browser Cookies
\101875a\Startup\ - Startup Files ?
\102072CC\SIMLanguage.dat - Current selected language of the SIM
\20003252\Menuketserver.ini - (This File is in the Startup List)
\10003A3F\import\apps\ - All your shortcuts to installed applications are saved in here in .RSC format, simply rename the .RSC to .RSCX to temporarily remove them from Menu, you can rename .RSCX back to .RSC later on.
\101f401d\Logdbu.dat is the log file.
\101F4CD2\Applications.dat is the file that holds the settings and locations of icons and custom folders located on your phone's MENU.

C:\resource\apps - The MIF files (Icon Files) Of the Softwares Installed in the phone,

C:\sys\data\mmcstore - This file has the Memory Card Password, Open with a text editor to view the current memory card password.

Some interesting facts. not yet tested on all phone but please test yours and let me know the result here.

1. C:\private\10000850\
contains the mbm file of operator logos

2. C:\private\100059c9\start.dat
some kind of autorun trigger. I couldnt decode this file, but it is it, I'm sure.. Why I think so? Because only after renaming or moving this file, autorun doesnt work. In all other cases apps start.

3. C:\private\10202be9\20001079.txt
this location.. in this text file there is code, and a line which says :
Code:

0x00040006 string "clockspeed" 0
0x00040007 int 332 0

on line 41 and 42 of the file.. overclocking possibility maybe?

also in this file is loads of settings with the graphics processor too, maybe even OC this check it out, im not the experianced when it comes to this, and i do have a spare n95 which i wouldnt care if it blows up, i willing to test it
Code:

0x00A00000 string "/hardware/graphics/displays/0/ngageorientations" 0
0x00A00001 int 0x00090000 0
0x00A00002 string "ngageorientationscount" 0
0x00A00003 int 3 0
0x00A00004 string "defaultngageorientation" 0
0x00A00005 int 0x08 0
0x00A00006 string "useroptions" 0
0x00A00007 int 0x0B 0
0x00A00008 string "wsinimodes" 0
0x00A00009 string "0x01, 0x02, 0x08" 0

ngage stuff there

Code:

0x00090000 string "/hardware/graphics/displays/0" 0
0x00090001 int 0x00080000 0
0x00090002 string "nativewidth" 0
0x00090003 int 240 0
0x00090004 string "nativeheight" 0
0x00090005 int 320 0
0x00090006 string "pixelsperinchx" 0
0x00090007 int 154 0
0x00090008 string "pixelsperinchy" 0
0x00090009 int 154 0
0x0009000A string "nativecolorformats" 0
0x0009000B int 0x00050000 0
0x0009000C string "brightnessadjustable" 0
0x0009000D int 0 0
0x0009000E string "contrastadjustable" 0
0x0009000F int 0 0
0x00090010 string "gammaadjustable" 0
0x00090011 int 0 0

graphics settings there..

4. In Z/private/101f51f2/PKI/96b7db19a4d...../
it has files in called
Code:

devicecert.der
deviceprivatekey.der
signningcert00.der
signningcert01.der

or in Z/private/10203636/security/trustroots/device/certificates/
nokia content signing
Code:

nokiaonlineca.cer
PCA3ss_v4.der
thawtepremium.cer
UTI_Root.der

click on any of them it says save certificate.
then when you click save it says new cert might be unsecure save anyway? i ant got round to clicking save yet lol

5. C:\PRIVATE\101F4CD2\Content\appshelldata.xml
this file contains the whole menu layout (N82)

6. I found some huge file in phone, c:/private/102072c4/reserved.bin, 4.5 Mb size of plain 0xff.
Deleted it and free up phone memory check if your phone has one.
the files are for FOTA (firmware over the air) coz when i remove it, and go to the device mgr. app it reapears, so its safe to remove it, we wont need it as we never get any FOTA updates.

C:\Private\10005A3E\mediaplayer.dat - This is list of Recent clips in Real Player. Those who want to hide what videos they have seen, can just delete it
And for OS9.1 phones (in my N73-1), some of the folders are different. For example, the
C:\Private\100012a5\DBS_100065FF_Contacts.cdb - Contacts Database
C:\Private\100012a5\DBS_100069CC_btregistry - Bluetooth device List
C:\Private\100012a5\DBS_10207216_SWinsLog.db - Instalation log of Softwares
C:\Private\10003a5b\Calendar - Calendar File

New phone? Hard reset? Firmware upgrade? Or you just want to be prepared for just in case? Of course you can backup all kinds of things on your phone with PC Suite or the backup feature of the data manager on your phone, but that takes forever, requires a computer (PC Suite), and won't let you choose what to backup (data manager).

But if you hack your phone to set it free and get full access to all system folders, you can backup exactly what you want.

All you need is a hacked phone, and a decent file manager like ActiveFile, X-Plore, SExplorer, FExplorer, or Y-Browser.

Access Points:
Your access points are stored in C:\Private\10202be9\persists\cccccc00.cre. Just make a copy of cccccc00.cre, and restore it to your phone (or send it to another phone), restart your phone, and you have your access point settings back just the way they were when you made the backup.

Bluetooth:
Your bluetooth name is in C:\Private\10202be9\persists\10204dac.cre, your paired devices are in C:\Private\100012a5\DBS_100069CC_btregistry

Bookmarks:
The bookmarks of Symbian's built-in web browser are stored in C:\Private\100012a5\DBS_101FD685_BrowserBookmarks.db.

Calendar:
Calendar entries are stored in C:\Private\10003a5b\Calendar. For more info on backing up your calendar click here.

Cookies
The cookies of Symbian's built-in web browser are in C:\Private\101f8530\cookies.dat. Restart your phone after restoring or transfering the cookies file. If you've told your browser to delete your cookies, there is no cookies.dat file in C:\Private\101f8530.

Messages:
Your SMSs and mails from Symbian's built-in messaging application are stored in C:\Private\1000484b. If you've told your phone to store messages on your memory card, they are in E:\Private\1000484b. Copy the entire folder, and restore when needed. For more info on backing up messages click here.

Notes:
The notes you write in Symbian's Notes application are stored in C:\Private\100012a5\DBS_101F8878_Notepad.dat.
If you can't delete or replace the file, it's because Symbian is using it. But there's a workaround for this problem: go to settings, data manager, memory, and select "back up phone memory" from the options menu. While your phone is making the backup, you can delete or replace the DBS_101F8878_Notepad.dat file.

Profiles:
Your profiles are stored in C:\Private\10202be9\persists\101f8798.cre. If you restore the backup, restart your phone.

T9 dictionary:
Your frequently used words in SMS and email are stored in C:\Predic\101F8615_F.dat. You don't even need to hack your phone to get into this folder. For more info click here.

Back up your messages

Make a backup of the SMSs and emails in the built-in Symbian messaging application of your phone.

1. Hack your phone to get access to the c:\private folder.

2. Copy the entire folder:

c:\private\1000484b\

to a safe place, such as your memory card or computer, or email it to yourself from your phone. If you want to email it, make a .zip file from the folder first.

If you've told your phone to store messages on your memory card, copy the folder e:\private\ 1000484b\ instead.

The built-in Symbian file browser can't see the c:\private folder, so use a file browser like X-Plore instead. The free version will do.
Back up your calendar entries

1. Hack your phone to get access to the c:\private folder.

2. Copy the file:

c:\private\10003a5b\Calendar

to a safe place, such as your memory card or computer, or email it to yourself from your phone.

The built-in Symbian file browser can't see the c:\private folder, so use a file browser like X-Plore instead.

Yeah!!! Very good work Bro!!!

This is a great Resume of very important things to take a note about it..... Too much people can understand why some hacks dont work for them, because some file names is not the same in two different platforms.

Tank you!!!
